Amir Khan vs Peterson rematch set on March 31st 2012

Brit/Pak boxer Amir Khan a.k.a King Khan will be set in ring with Peterson, the current IBF and WBF title holder on March 31st 2012 in a rematch.
Amir Khan lost to Peterson last weekend losing both his titles on a split decision by the judges. Amir Khan was of the view the referee(Cooper) was not being fair, ultimately deducting two points for pushing without warning. According to Khan he was ultimately playing with two people in the ring, Peterson and the referee. Amir Khan after the match readily demanded for the rematch.

The underdog for the match Peterson was happy to win the title and regarded his victory due to hard work.  Peterson willingly accepted the rematch challenge given by Khan.
"If it was left up to me, I'd fight him tomorrow," said Peterson
"That's just me. Don't matter who I fight, I'm always ready."
Khan's Hall of Fame trainer, Freddie Roach, didn't hold back in his criticism of Cooper, who declined to talk after the fight.
"(Cooper) did a terrible job. A referee shouldn't decide fights," Roach said. "He's not a judge. He made himself a judge tonight. He missed a knockdown. The first knockdown (ruled a slip) was clearer than the second one. And then he took two points away for nothing and didn't give warnings. This is like amateur refereeing. A referee at this level of competition shouldn't make those mistakes. He decided the fight, not the judges. The referee took it out of the judges' hands."

Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson preview

Lately there have been many high adrenaline boxing happening all around. Today is going to be nothing less than a stunner, when Brit/Pak Champion Amir Khan will face local hero Lamont Peterson in Washington DC.
Khan has already had two impressive wins, with BF light welterweight championship into his kitty. While comparing few inferences can be drawn:
Amir Khan:
Amir Khan is a young guy full of high adrenaline and testosterone level. He is quick in the ring, followed by his immense punching power. In order to undo Peterson he needs to dictate early into the game in order to gain sufficient advantage over the rival.
Lamont Peterson:
Peterson will be having his home side cheering for him , adding huge boost to his performance. Apart from that he needs to produce something exceptional in order to win the match. In comparison he is more technically sound fighter. Though he lacks speed as possesed by Khan, but he is intelligent enough to know when to strike, and go on defense.
Despite Peterson being more technically viable, but still boxing is all about speed, agility, and able to force the opponents to their limits. According to me Amir Khan will have definite advantage, and Peterson will be having more odds when doing in to Convention Centre.

Sehwag breaks Sachin Record for lndivudual ODI Runs

Virendar Sehwag created history today at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore as he surpassed the record recently made by Sachin Tendulkar of 200* against South Africa, making 219 off 149 balls against West Indies.

Sehwag achieved his double hundred in 140 balls to get his double century , hence breaking Tendulkar's record by scoring 219. His innings included 142 runs in boundaries which included seven sixes and 25 fours.

His record-breaking was a display of exuberant performance which concluded in an excellent manner, as Sehwag and Gambhir gave India the kind of start they had failed to produce up to this point in the series.
Having batted for 46.3 overs,Sehwag said:
"I'm very tired because I'm 33-years-old. I'm an old man and my back and glutes are tight. I'll go and take an ice bath and get back on the field."

It was many times the tale of story was inching towards Del Potro, but Nadal on his favourite surface with his utter resilience changed the course of the match. Del Potro was left in tears at the end after playing some of the most powerful tennis ever seen on a court. It was as dominant a showing as has ever been seen against Nadal on clay.  Del Potro was doing what he could, but Nadal held his game and nerves and put a fighting game to end with a tie breaker in fourth set (7-0).On match point Nadal rapped a forehand winner up the line, a fitting end to an amazing match.
