The long awaited match between Manchester United and Chelsea  which was washed up due to heavy snow, finally end up in favour of Chelsea as they beat the Red Devils Manchester United 2-1. Lampard 80th minute penalty goal sealed the fate for United , as on other hand in the stopaage time United were reduced to 10 players as Captain Vidic faced a stern Red card by the referee. Also  Ryan Giggs equalled Sir Bobby Charlton’s Manchester United club record of 606 league games. Now United rests at 60 points of 28 appearances, while Arsenal is at second spot with 27 matches, whereas Chelsea is well behind United with 48 of 27.

Manchester United took early lead, as Rooney who have been in good nick for almost a month, scoring every now and then put up an amazing  goal in the 29th minute to help lead the United with 1-0 lead till half time. Rooney who earlier at the weekend was lucky to have survived elbowing in a match against Wigan, proved to be deadly as far as Chelsea were concerned. But soon after the second half had started David Luiz , went upto be a lucky charm for Chelsea who recently joined the Blues with an equiliser in the 54th minute.

Things remained pretty tense till the 80th minute when Chelsea luckily went on to get a penalty in their favour, and Lampard making absolutely no mistake in converting a golden opportunity worth it. Drogba remained on the bench, and Ancelotti trusting Torres for his ace striker, though did not scored a goal, might be his presence made some lucky stuff going around. Now this would seriously call Ancelotti for some celebration, today.
On the other hand, the removal of Vidic would eventually mean, United will be without him in an important encounter against Liverpool.
