Pakistan after defeating India has qualified for the final of tri-nation hockey tournament after ending the match in a tie(1-1). Pakistan will now play Australia in the finals in Perth on Thursday.
Pakistan will also play another tri-nation hockey tournament against India and Australia prior to the Champions Trophy. The tournament saw a few innovations being introduced, including reduced playing time and smaller hockey fields.
In the first match of the series, Pakistan and India got into a physical brawl resulting in a injury on both Indian and Pakistan sides. After the clash, three India players and one official were banned while Pakistan served a one-match punishment.
